About Us

How we started, and what we stand for

A Trust founded by neighbours in Njarakkal, working to be a helping hand for our community.

Our story

Founded close to home

Lightway Charitable Trust began with a group of socially committed citizens in Njarakkal who saw a need close to home — elderly neighbours managing age-related ailments, families coping with chronic illness or accident injuries, and the caregivers, palliative care sisters, and ASHA workers quietly doing the hard work of caring for them, often without enough support or recognition.

Established in the heart of Vypin at Njarakkal (Thegathara Road, Ice Cream Company Compound), the Trust was officially inaugurated on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Njarakkal Lions Club Service Centre, by the then Hon. Vypin MLA, Shri K. N. Unnikrishnan. As part of the inauguration, the MLA felicitated palliative care sisters and ASHA workers from the area — the first of, we hope, many such moments of recognition.

Our mission

Today, our active work concentrates on elderly care, palliative care, accident and injury support, care for the chronically ill, and support for caregivers and ASHA workers — the fuller charter above is the long-term mandate we'll keep growing into.

Our people
